What ListenerReader is, how its stories are produced, and who to contact.

The publication

ListenerReader covers podcasts: the notable claims, revealing exchanges, and moments people talk about from interview shows across the podcast world. It launched in June 2026.

Every story is drawn from a podcast episode. Quotes are attributed to the person who said them and linked to the moment in the source episode, and every story links to the full episode so readers can hear it in context. ListenerReader does not publish full transcripts.

Coverage is organized into desks: Interviews, Health, Money, Crime, Comedy, Culture.

How stories are produced

  1. Software monitors a list of podcasts for new episodes and scores which ones look newsworthy.
  2. For each selected episode, it obtains a transcript of the episode.
  3. An AI language model drafts the story from the transcript, built around the most notable claim in the episode. An episode without a notable claim does not get a story.
  4. Each quoted line is matched against the transcript and linked to that second of the episode. A quote that cannot be confidently matched is published without a timestamp link.
  5. Before a story publishes, automated checks review it for style, for machine-sounding phrasing, and for statements that could unfairly harm a person. A story that fails is redrafted, held, or not published.
  6. Most stories publish without a person reading them first. Some are held for human review before they publish. People set the coverage rules, choose the shows that are followed, and handle corrections.

Bylines

Stories carry a desk byline, such as "ListenerReader Interviews Desk". A desk byline names the section of the site a story belongs to. It does not name an individual writer.

Ownership

ListenerReader is privately owned and does not carry advertising. More on the About page.

Corrections

When a story is wrong, it is corrected. To report an error, a misquote, or missing context, email [email protected] with the article link and what you believe is wrong. Quote corrections are checked against the source episode. The full policy is on the Corrections page.
